Being aware of a peanut allergy requires one to know what are the things to do to overcome the difficulties of this issue. Peanuts are not the most common allergen, but they are certainly the most dangerous kind. In most cases, the allergic reactions to peanut consumption include throat swelling, difficulty in breathing, and a condition called anaphylactic shock that can be fatal if not treated immediately. The treatment to this kind of anaphylactic shock is an injection of epinephrine. The most important thing to do if you have an allergy to peanuts is to avoid them at all costs. This can get tricky because peanuts and traces of peanuts can be found in some surprising places.

Yellow Food Dye Allergy

Most colorants used in foods are considered safe by the FDA, However, the issue of yellow food dye allergy is one that is getting quite a bit of attention lately. This yellow dye is called tartrazine and/or Yellow FD&C No. 5. This one has been shown to cause adverse reactions like hives and itching in a small percent of the population. The dyes and colorants used in foods and other products must be listed on the label according to U.S. laws o that it becomes very easy for consumers to determine whether or not a product contains this yellow dye.
